How we measure AI
Some great thinking as to how to evaluate how AI is being used and to think about "AI fluency".
AI is going to impact all roles, we cant ignore and we need to come up with some frameworks to evaluate where teams are honestly at.
At Zapier they use this framework:
Evaluation across four levels, from basic exposure to full-on transformation:
❌ Unacceptable: Resists AI, distrusts automation, dismisses experimentation ✅ Capable: Dabbles in tools like ChatGPT or Copilot; light, recent usage 🚀 Adoptive: Embeds AI into personal workflows; starts automating, chaining models 🧠 Transformative: Uses AI to reshape strategy, systems, and user experiences
Each level builds on the last, and the goal isn’t to judge, but to grow.

Former Intel CEO, Andy Grove, described the decision to switch the company’s focus from memory chips to microprocessors as a “strategic inflection point” that arose from a single conversation between he and CEO Gordon Moore. Armed with that vision they transformed the company in three years.

Here is some great advice about communicating intent and your actions!
